Welcome to the Gurudwara
Welcome to Sikh Community Centre. We have been serving this community for over 15 years, providing the basic day to day services to the Sikh community including daily prayers; Japji Sahib, Sukhmani Sahib, Rehras Sahib (for children aged 5 to 16)
Naam Japo
Meditate on the name of God and reciting and chanting of God’s Name-Waheguru all the time. For this reason sikh recite nitnem bani on daily basis in the sweet remeberance of the almighty.
Kirat Karo
Sikhs are asked to live as householders and practise Kirat Karo: to earn honestly, with diligence, by one’s mental and physical effort, while accepting God’s gifts and blessing. Also, One is to always speak the truth. Live simple life with high moral values and spirituality.
Vaṇḍ Chakko
The Sikhs were asked to share (food, wealth etc) with the needy, irrespective of caste, color, creed or sexuality. This why Sikhs keep 10% of their income aside to either donate or use in the service of the community.

For the respect of your hair, two turbans are to be tied, tying each layer one at a time. There should be a small turban tied underneath and a larger one tied above this. Women must not plait their hair and should keep their hair tied in a bun. If possible, in order to respect your Kesh then a small turban should be tied.
Dasvand
Donate a Tenth of Your Earnings
As Sikhs we share our earnings with others by giving one tenth of our earnings in charity, depositing cash or kind into the common pool, and from that pool multiple returns spill forth providing wealth and total sustenance to all of its contributors. But daan is not just ‘giving alms.’ It stands for seva. And for each of us, the Guru shows us how and where to give our tenth.
